CONFIGURING IITB-WIRELESS NETWORK
Regarding connecting to IITB-Wireless
-----------------------------------------------------
Attached file contains all the settings needed for connecting to IITB-Wireless and not IITB-Guest.
IITB-Guest will limit the access and no IIT subscribed sites will open. IITB-Wireless, everything will open and is same as using IITB LAN.
For Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 users, they can rename extension from ex! to exe and run the executable as administrator.
(URL full form: IITB for IIT Bombay, W for Wireless)
This will take your to a Dropbox URL. If Dropbox URL does not open then kindly change https protocol to http and hit enter or try opening in other browsers like Firefox, Chrome, IE, Edge, Vivaldi etc.
http://bit.do/iitbw
IITB-Wireless will give access to all the sites including internal once and all subscriptions of IITB. IITB-Guest limits the access to few sites.
For Linux users, they have to edit one of the files. Instructions given on page 2.
For Windows XP or Mac, it is straight forward.
Use the files from
http://www.cc.iitb.ac.in/engipallocations/engwirelessaccessoncampus/14-wireless
OR IITB-Wireless All OS Help File: Linux, Mac, Android:
http://goo.gl/Yu2Hmi
On Android or Windows phone, kindly select PEAP, version 2 or Auto. Enter LDAP username in both identity and anonymous identity and LDAP password to connect.
Usually http://internet.iitb.ac.in should work properly inside the campus.
However if if fails or is having some issue or otherwise, you can always use netmon as proxy server.
To configure netmon proxy server, kindly select option: automatic script or script file and enter address as:
www.cc.iitb.ac.in/autoproxy.pac
Once done, it will ask for LDAP authentication once. It should work.
Thank you.
